My Classroom – Year 4

Well, school being two days in and that desks having (finally!) arrived last Friday, I thought I’d share some pictures of my room this year.

Here’s where we started:

room 1

Here is a view of the back of the room:

room 2

Mostly we’re looking at my desk (complex) and the reading corner. As far as the reading corner … let’s just say that it will be getting a separate post all to itself, mmkay?

The front of the room I am not all that pleased with, I have to say. It looks so … plain.

room 3

I struggled with what to put above my motto. The picture is a little blurry, so it is hard to see, but I ended up going with two poems; “There is no Frigate like a Book” by Emily Dickinson and “A Girl” by Ezra Pound. I’m still not entirely happy with that; I don’t think it looks great.

The front by the door:

They actually say the pledge every morning at this school. It threw me off the first time I heard it.

I set up my twenty-five (well, twenty-four, one “got lost in transit”) brand new shiny desks up in rows, at least for the nonce.

It’s kind of hard to tell in that picture, but I have an aisle set up down the middle of the room (lined off by blue painters tape) so that I can move around more easily. We’ll see how long it lasts. If they add even one more student to some of my classes, I’ll have to put desks there.

(Look! A thermostat! Oooh. Aaaah.)

Aaaand my favorite feature of the room:

We’ll see if it works.

One Response

  1. love it :) my walls are so cluttered this year, with four word walls for the four courses that ar being taught in this room. what i really meant in my post was laugh or roll my eyes… or do one of those exasperated teenage angsty sighs.
